Haru’s ‘possible’ change of mind about going pro honestly didn’t come off as much of a surprise to me. (I say ‘possible’ because he never actually says it but it seems to be the case)
This is an anime about swimming and a boy who loves water… Do people really think that Haru was just going to settle down somewhere and do something else for the rest of his life?
And no I don’t think that they just made Haru suddenly change his mind at the end of the episode…
I believe Rin wanted to give Haru the chance to think clearly about if he really wanted to continue swimming competitively or not. No one giving him their opinions, no one trying to scout him, no pressure… Just Haru. That’s why Rin took him to Australia. He wanted to get Haru away from the things that were stressing him and clouding his thoughts so he could have a serious thinking session about what he wanted.
Overall this is just my opinion and I apologize if I made it seem like I was shitting on the opinions of others. I’m not frustrated or mad over them, just curious about the thought process behind them.
